About Us

Here at WiiWare World we're dedicated to making sure you only experience the best Nintendo's WiiWare service has to offer. Our crack team of news reporters and reviewers has been hand-picked to form the most solid and dependable group of videogame experts available.

Some of us work within the industry and others are merely diehard game freaks doing it for the love of their hobby, but the common principle that unites us all at WiiWare World is the desire to inform and educate Wii owners about how best to spend those valuable Wii Points.

The site was launched in May 2008 with the support of Cuttlefish Multimedia, a UK based web development company, and also the guys behind Virtual Console Reviews and Nintendo Life.

The Team

Darren Calvert (Editor / News)

After the success of VC Reviews, Darren wanted a new challenge so he got to work on WiiWare World. Along with his partner in crime Damien, this dynamic duo round up all the news and perform editorial duties on incoming reviews. He is based in Cambridge, UK and likes nothing more than getting muddy by mountain biking at the weekends.

Damien McFerran (Editor / News)

Damien is based in Loughborough, UK and is a professionally published freelance writer and is a regular contributor to GamesTM and Retro Gamer magazines. Irrespective of this, he still has trouble spelling even the most basic of words, which goes to show they really will print anything these days.

Corbie Dillard (Reviewer)

Corbie is based in Texas and began gaming on the Atari 2600. Despite having a very impressive PC Engine collection, the Super Nintendo system is still his game console of choice. He has been reviewing games for over a decade and has over 30 different consoles in his collection!

Marcel Van Duyn (Reviewer / News)

Marcel hails from the Netherlands, but don't hold that against him! You'll mostly see his name on our sister site, VC Reviews, but he has been known to do the odd review and spot on news on WiiWare World too. His passion for all things Nintendo knows no bounds and his collection is one of the biggest in Europe!

Alex Knox (Reviewer)

Alex just showed up one morning and smelled so bad we couldn't resist offering the poor guy a shower and a job. When he's not sacrificing personal hygiene to get the word out about the latest WiiWare release, you'll usually find him roaming around the Northwoods of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Oh, and he loves rice and beans.

Stephen Witkowski (Reviewer)

Stephen is a senior at Houghton College (New York) majoring in Psychology. He has his sights set on becoming a game designer, and at the moment, his favourite systems of all-time are the Sega Dreamcast and the Super Nintendo.

Sammy Barker (Reviewer)

Sammy hails from the urban streets of Birmingham, UK and spends most of his time slaving over the sound of kick drums for his Music Production degree, which is his ticket out of the ghetto. When he's not in the studio you can be rest assured he'll be "geeking it up" on various video game message boards.

Anthony Dickens (Design / Code)

Last, but far from least! Anthony is a web application developer by trade and is the guy responsible for all of the Web 2.0 architecture which defines the slick look of WiiWare World. Like Damien he is based in Loughborough, UK.
