Alien Crush

Alien Crush (WiiWare)

Alien Crush is a video pinball simulation. It was developed by NAXAT Soft for the TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine and released in 1989. It has a sequel named Devil's Crush. It was rereleased on Nintendo's Wii console as a Virtual Console game. The game will soon be remade into a WiiWare game later on this year that will feature updated graphics and online

There is not much of a story. The pinball game has an outerspace, alien theme. The styling is very similar to the movie Alien. Essentially, you are “fighting” against the aliens with your pinball skills.

The play field of Alien Crush consists of two main screens arranged vertically, with a pair of flippers at the bottom of each. The play stops momentarily as the ball shifts from one screen to the next. There are several hidden/bonus rooms. These hidden rooms mainly involve destroying all the aliens (or several waves of aliens) for bonus points. You are given the choice of fast or slow (ball speed) and two different music tracks.

If there are many tables and more features than the original, I'll be sure to download this one.

Iam a huge fan of the original, I cant believe there making a sequel for it. This will be a must buy for me.

I wonder how the 5 player mode thing is going to work.

Seeing as I haven't downloaded the original (though I greatly enjoyed playing Devil's Crush), I'll add it to my ever increasing WiiWare wishlist.

Yeah same here Atlantis. I haven't played Alain or devils Crush, but the wiiare one might be better for me. But they will probably price it around 1000, since the originals are 800.

If they nail the gameplay like its predecessor and the price is right, this should be an automatic purchase. The artwork is fantastic.

I was never into the look of the original, and will the updated look is more tolerable, it still makes me squeemish just looking at it. Thats just going off the stills, but maybe videos will change my mind. Until then, it's going to have to do a lot to get me to buy it. While I normally don't have high standards, Devil's Crush, which I've always held in higher regard, is going to be much cheaper, and I already have Metroid Prime Pinball, which has sci-fi-themed pinball covered for me, though I won't it to that high of standards, as this is not a full release like MPP(nor costing $35). I like Hudson, so I'm not going to dismiss this one right off the bat and the original Alien Crush was by no means a bad game, it's just that it's going to have to be really good in order to get me to ignore Devil's Crush, as well as it's rather disgusting looking theme.
