Animales de la Muerte

Animales de la Muerte (WiiWare)

Seemingly similar to games such as Smash TV and Alien Syndrome, you will mostly stay in one location trying to stay alive as long as possible. The game takes place in a Mexican zoo where recently, animals have begun dying only to resurrect as zombies. The game has a cutesy graphics style but seems to actually be quite gruesome.

As a Mexican I find this quite the cliche... but I'm still getting it!

Campy, violent, cartoonish, and zombie animals abound....must buy!

This looks absolutely hilarious. Somehow kinda reminds me of Smash TV! Actually, why don't Midway release that classic on VC. "Good luck, you'll need it!!!"

Finally, a game that adresses the threat of animal zombies! PETA is not going to like this.

Je je. An interesting game (especially for Mexicans like me). We will see some of mexican folklore. But... Based in a true story? xD

Dead Rising with animals!?

12. KhaoShar Germany 29 Apr 2008, 09:45 GMT

This will not be coming to europe. Our strict german laws and developers lazieness when it comes to programming extra-versions will mean we'l block it for the rest of EU again, please don't throw stones at us for that.

And even if gore WAS reduced: what would be the sense of slamming a cute chainsaw with pink hearts on it into a zombie-elephant's brain if the screen does not turn all red? Where would be the humor in that?!

@KhaoShar

Really? It wont be allowed in Europe? Man I knew my German cousins should've gotten an American Wii!

Looks fun actually, but I don't think I'll be letting my little brother play this one.

This looks like an interesting title! As far as I know, I think this is the first ‘M’ rated VC game, if not one of the only few ‘M’ rated games of all 3 next-gen consoles. I know it’s not officially rated yet, so I may be wrong.

The problem I see is that this game may cause controversy because…
1) You kill animals, so animal activists will probably complain, even if it the animals are undead.

2) Cartoony graphics. It’s better to be cartoon-like than real for this game, but it appeals more to kids. Kind of like how Conker for N64 was a problem with parents back then. Solution: turn Wii parental controls on, simple right?

3) Little kids with machine guns. I’m sure it will attract some group.

Violence in videogames doesn’t bother me so I’ll support and buy this game if it gets good reviews. I just hope Jack Thompson doesn’t make a big deal…most likely he will.

@natendo or anyone else who can answer:
Actually, how is Nintendo going to enforce the whole M rating thing? In addition to this, another Wiiware title whose name escapes me, Midway said they want to put Mortal Kombat on VC. As for Parental controls, my parents dont know of them (lol) but I'll be 18 when this comes out anyway. So what is Nintendo going to do? This wont be as funny as a T game.

I heard Nintendo is following up with a similar game of their own called Animal Crossing de la Muerte.

Controls are all that matters here for me. Everything else is already awesome!
I just fall in love everytime I see such crazy concepts in a game.
And zombies are just like ninjas concerning the charisma as videogame characters.
I'm hoping for a Robotron/Geometry Wars style of control.

"Okay children, just go out there and save the animals from the zombies. And here some machine guns you probably have no idea how to use for some protection, and I'll be back here with a chainsaw in case you need some help. Don't worry, this won't put you in any pointless danger at all."

This looks looks awesome and I love anything sick and twisted, so long as it's trying to be funny, and I love anything that has to do with Mexico! I might have to get the German version, though, as I am very squeemish.

I think this comes out in Fall. This and a few other games have caught my attention, I wish they would just come out sooner.

This looks awesome, and has some good graphics. But It'll probably be short and quick.

Avatar

29. mr.niceguy United States 20 Jun 2008, 03:56 GMT

@MoneybagzX

This seems more like Assault Heroes(without vehicles, most likely) combined with Robotron(stuck in a box) with a horror astetic, if you ask me. I don't know what "boxhead the zombie rooms" is, but if you think that describes it then, yes, if not, then no.

Avatar

30. marvman3 United States 23 Jun 2008, 18:43 GMT

Yep,
This is defintely a "Happy Tree Friends" spinoff.
I can't believe that Famliy Concerned Nintendo approves of this.
At least the story is interesting, and the gameplay is like Smash TV.
It will sell, but can the younger audience stomach the carnage?
A Holloween release, me thinks.
Ah, ya gotta love marketing and strategy.
Rockn.

uummmm. why would this be rated M? its 2 little kids shooting animals. And its animated(if you didnt figure that out...). Sure there is blood, but again, its animated. its only going to give hippies and 5 yr olds nitemares. but im going to get this. i dont care if its M(even though im only 14)

Avatar

34. breaderer United States 02 Jul 2008, 23:31 GMT

this will probably be the first (and only) M rated wiiware game. But it still looks awesome! (in the trailer it says "based on a true strory," If so I need to go to Mexico)

I always find it funny when someone does, say a film, which is bizarre and unbelievable and then say it's based on a true story.

Actually, LIT and Luc's projects might get a M, and Last Flight definately will. This is one of my most-anticipated games. HVS is kicking butt lately with a good (if not great maybe) Wiiware already, this great-looking upcoming Wiiware, and a certain highly anticipated Wii disc title.

ya sumtimes games like this have too much gore yet not enuf purpose if you know wat i mean, but maybe this might give sum1 an idea of a first person shooter wiiware game sumday! And btw, is HVS just emerging for wiiware? or do they have other games from before?

Avatar

45. Mickeymac United States 04 Aug 2008, 07:44 GMT

@DaDun

They've been around for a while, they just never got big until recently. The only notable pre-wiiware games they made were Tempest 2000 and one other one, though.
