As you're most probably aware, Nintendo’s new WiiWare service launched in the US today and to coincide with this truly momentous event we’re also lifting the lid on WiiWare World, your one-stop resource for all things related to the gaming portal.
You might recognise some of the faces here from our stupendously successful sister sites Virtual Console Reviews and NintendoLife. With this new venture we aim to bring the same high quality reviewing and news reporting that fans of our other sites will already be accustomed to.
Currently the site is packed with news and game profile pages, many of which contain screenshots and video footage. Over the next few days you’ll notice that reviews begin to appear as our staff get to grips with the new titles that have recently been released. As the site begins to gather speed we’ll be looking to bring you exclusive interviews and other exciting content.
So feel free to have a look around and please register if you haven’t done so already. If you’re already a member of Virtual Console Reviews then you’ll be happy to know that your user name and password work here, too. Why not fire off a few comments and let us know what you think of the new site? Our technical whizzkid Ant has been slaving over this for quite some time, and I'm sure you'll agree it looks fantastic!
Remember to spread the word about WiiWare World on all the different forums you visit on your travels this week!

Are any of the new reviewers writing yet?
6. Dazza
13 May 2008, 00:15 GMT
We have the new WiiWare reviewers all chained together surrounded by a stack of Wiis. They are are occasionally being beaten with sticks to work faster! The reviews will be ready soon

I wasn't being impatient; I was just wondering if they would be writing the first few reviews or if the vets (you) would be writing them.

For those who don't know yet, LostWinds and Defend Your Castle are really good.

This is totally unrelated, but who thinks that N should make a New Super Mario Bros. 2 based on Mario 2? Anyone? It would be interesting to see sequel to a game that was not only a dream, but barely a Mario game!

That may be one of the most off-topic comments I've ever seen in my life
Looks good guys. I'm excited!

This'll be even more helpful than vc-reviews. Hooray!

Clayfrd, I can't say that I really enjoyed Super Mario Bros. 2... it was just to weird. I don't know. And as I kid I thought it was too difficult. But as for a sequel... I'm not sure how it would work, considering it was a dream. I mean, is it about a dream that he had the next day?
13. Clayfrd
13 May 2008, 01:36 GMT
@DJ Triforce- It could be! I beat SMB2 for the first time not too long ago. It could even work as a real life occurance. Shy Guys exist in several Yoshi games, so some of the dream's occurances are canon. The best part would be New Super Mario Bros. 3. We could finally get another go at the Tanooki Suit!

@Dazza- Wait, shouldn't you know why I'm so anxiously awaiting the new reviews? Of all things, I actually want to be busy!

Congrats, guys. Although I sometimes disagree with your reviews, you guys manage to chug out some of the best info related to the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo overall. Heck, I even depend on your reviews since they are always consistent (and I shall concede, they sometimes beat my opinions). So, here's to your new site guys and I hope it prospers. Heck, I know it will.

It's so white.
Nice site, it's just like VC-reviews, but it has a different feel. I like the new chat feature that's pretty cool. And it's great that your making this site it's very own forum. Also I'm happy that i can finally see the new posts, it annoyed me so much before that i would have to guess to see any new posts.
good job guys.

Thank you, Ant! It looks great. I have to say, though, I really hope you plan to put in the gray stripes as a background (like VCR).

I like how white it is if only because it gives the site a "new" feel.

Clayfrd, I had a problem with the game, as a child... but I haven't really taken the time to go back and play it. Plus, knowing that it was a re-skinned game made it feel like a lie. I don't know. It was sad.
But the game looks great.... you can't deny that... but a sequel to Super Mario Bros. 3 II... That's a game I could put my time into.

^ Sure does. I look forward to it also.
It's just too bad I missed the post about being able to write Reviews for the team because my PC was down and I would have accepted the opportunity easily. Oh well.

Great new WHITE site. Can't wait for reviews. This is the future, since I kind of think VC is going to die off soon. (Earthbound first of course.)

WiiWare certainly is the future. A future I embrace with open arms!
Can't wait to see the Forums go up.

@Dazza
Who got to be reviewers?
Did Demon212, hope he did
34. Dazza
14 May 2008, 00:31 GMT
@Shortay - The WiiWare forum will use your normal VC:R/WWW login. Watch this space!
@The reviewers will be revealed soon when we put the reviews live in the morning! Not long now! Demon212 didn't apply, he is too busy doing Podcasts!
